VANCOUVER – Nine hundred and fifty-one days ago, I joined Substack with exactly zero subscribers. I didn’t know what I was doing, or what I wanted to write. I only knew that I needed an outlet – and fast. So I wrote a quick introduction and posted it.
Human Pursuits, One of the Internet's Best Websites, is officially a member of the Substackrati.
This newsletter will serve as an extension of the Human Pursuits blog, delivering fresh articles and insights directly to your mailbox.
Sign up now so you don’t miss the first issue.
Exactly two people subscribed: Leah, and myself (using my spam email address).
Nine hundred and fifty-one days later, the newsletter has grown into something I couldn’t have imagined on that cold day in November. And so I think it’s time for a re-introduction and a small celebration.
A few months ago, I decided to make a zine and a t-shirt to compliment the newsletter. You can buy it here. The entire thing is designed and created by me, printed in Vancouver, and features a personal essay that will live only there.
Consider it a love letter to you, and this ever-expanding universe that we are creating together. Served over ice with a fat lemon wedge.
This is not an exit. This is only the beginning.
